Understanding Peer Support

*This course is open to everyone*

One of the most valuable components of a recovery lifestyle is ongoing, regular peer support. Peers are individuals who
draw from their own diverse experiences and backgrounds to build meaningful relationships with enthusiasm, understanding, and without pressure or judgment. We offer this one-day training to individuals with lived experience or organizations that employ peers, who are interested in supporting the recovery process, and learning practices that are reflective of authentic peer support. Participants will be able to understand what a healthy peer relationship is, learn the rich history and evolution of the profession, understand the 9 Myths about Peer Support, and are able to identify and discuss examples of authentic peer support.
