Faith-Based Support
Faith and Recovery: Strength for the Journey
At New Life II, faith plays an important role in the recovery journey for many of the people we serve. For countless individuals facing addiction, incarceration, trauma, or life on the streets, faith becomes a source of strength, hope, and renewal. Our organization was founded on the belief that healing happens in many ways — through community, peer support, personal accountability, and for many, through faith.
Faith reminds people that their story is not over.
For individuals who feel broken, forgotten, or lost, faith can restore a sense of purpose and identity. It helps people believe that change is possible and that their life still has meaning and direction.
All Are Welcome
While New Life II is rooted in faith, we welcome people of all denominations, spiritual backgrounds, and beliefs. Everyone deserves support, compassion, and the opportunity to
rebuild their life. No one is required to share a specific belief system to receive support at New Life II. Our goal is to meet people where they are, walk alongside them, and provide a community where they feel respected, supported, and valued.
Faith is offered as a source of strength for those who seek it, while our peer support and recovery services remain open and accessible to everyone. Our goal is not to replace anyone’s faith journey but to support it, recognizing that for many people, faith is a powerful foundation for recovery, restoration, and transformation.
Unshakeable Men and Unshakeable Women
New Life II assists men and women who are recovering from addiction transform their lives so they may assimilate back into society as caring and productive citizens. To help accomplish this, New Life II has implemented the Unshakable Men and Unshakeable Women programs.
Built on tenets of the Urban Alliance 5-Cs, the Unshakable Men and Unshakeable Women programs help participants cope with life’s challenges and heal from painful experiences. Urban Alliance aids in strengthening our care programs by equipping us to sensitively respond to individuals who are in distress, connect them to appropriate community resources, and provide education and training that help people improve their mental, emotional, and relational health and resilience.
Pastoral Care
New Life II participants have access, if they wish, to pastoral care and shepherding through our chaplain, Pastor Dana Smith. Pastor Dana has had years of experience mentoring men and women, teaching them life skills and how to cope with peer pressure, low self-esteem, and how to build character. Pastor Dana offers biblical counsel through teaching Godly principles, and supports participants in their personal and spiritual growth, recovery, and transition back into society.
